Teaching

I tutor 11+ and 13+ Common Entrance, GCSE and A level English and English Literature on a one-to-one basis. I am an experienced teacher and have always got great results from my students, which I believe is in part due to the quality of the rapport I quickly develop with each one. I am interested in who my students are as individuals and, because I get to know and understand them, I can tailor my teaching to best suit each one. I have taught children from a whole range of backgrounds, from those in the care of the local authority to children from some of the most exclusive private schools in the country. I also have experience of a range of special educational needs, including aspergers, autism (including high functioning autism) and dyslexia. I believe that every child should be given the support that they need to reach their full potential and my approach is one of unconditional positive regard. I am also an examiner.

I also have experience of teaching adults, having previous written and taught creative writing courses for beginners, as well as botanical painting courses and workshops for all abilities. I have also recently become a tutor for the WEA and am currently putting together a workshop entitled Women Writing the Second World War, which I shall be teaching for their Bath branch next Spring.

Further, I have knowledge and experience of home-schooling, having educated my own daughter at home between the ages of 5-7.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of my teaching, or want to find out about upcoming courses in which you could participate, please email me at annabelwynne@gmail.com
